30andme is small and deliberately slow. One introduction at a time, seven days to talk, then the conversation clears. That design only works if the people in it are real and here for the same reason you are. These are the rules that keep it that way.
Breaking them gets your account removed. We do not issue strikes for the serious ones.
Who this is for
- You are 28 or older. There is no flexibility here and we verify.
- You are looking to actually meet someone. Not to collect attention, not to promote anything.
- One account per person. Duplicates get removed, including the original.
Be the person in your photos
- Your verification selfie becomes your main photo. That is the point: the first thing anyone sees of you is a picture we watched you take.
- Every photo must be of you, recent, and recognisable. No group shots where nobody can tell which one you are, no photos of celebrities, no photos of your car instead of your face.
- Use your real first name. Not a handle, not a brand.
- Answer the compatibility questions honestly. They lock after onboarding, and they are the whole basis of who you get introduced to. Lying here only produces bad introductions for you.
What gets an account removed
Immediately, and usually permanently:
- Anyone under 28. If we believe a user is a minor, the account is removed and reported to the relevant authorities.
- Nudity or sexual content in photos, your bio, or your voice introduction. Unsolicited explicit images sent in chat end the account.
- Harassment. Continuing to contact someone who has stopped replying, insults, sexual pressure, threats, or abuse after a conversation ends.
- Hate. Attacks on anyone's caste, religion, race, ethnicity, nationality, disability, gender, or sexual orientation.
- Asking members for money. Any request for cash, gift cards, crypto, a loan, an investment, or help with a family emergency. No exceptions and no context in which this is acceptable.
- Impersonation of another person, including using someone else's photos.
- Commercial use. Promoting a business, selling anything, recruiting, driving people to another platform or a paid channel.
- Violence or self-harm content, including threats made in chat.
- Illegal activity, including anything involving trafficking or sex work.
- Automation. Bots, scrapers, scripted accounts, or attempts to reverse engineer how matching works.
Money: the one rule with no exceptions
Nobody you meet here has a legitimate reason to ask you for money. Not for a flight to visit you, not for a medical bill, not for a trading account that is doing very well right now. This is the single most common way people get hurt on dating apps, and it works because the request arrives after weeks of genuine warmth.
If someone asks, do not send anything. Report them. You will not be the only person they asked.
Reporting and blocking
Both are in the app, on any profile and inside any conversation.
- Block takes effect instantly. It closes the conversation and removes you both from each other's matching pool permanently, so you will never be introduced again.
- Report sends the account to our moderation queue with the reason you give. We ask for a short explanation because a category alone is not enough to act on.
- Reports are private. The person you report is never told who reported them.
- We review reports ourselves and act on them directly. Depending on what we find, that means a warning, removal from matching, or deletion of the account.
- Filing knowingly false reports to remove someone you simply did not like is itself a violation.
If you are in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first. Then email us at safety@30and.me and we will preserve what we have and cooperate with any lawful request.
Meeting in person
The whole app is built to get you to this point, so it is worth doing well.
- Meet somewhere public the first time, and stay there.
- Tell a friend where you are going, who with, and when you expect to be back.
- Arrange your own transport, both directions. Do not get picked up from home on a first meeting and do not share your address.
- Stay with your own drink.
- Video or voice call before you meet if anything feels uncertain. Someone who refuses every call is telling you something.
- Leave whenever you want. You owe nobody an explanation, an evening, or a second one.
What we do not do
We would rather be honest about the limits than imply a safety net that does not exist.
- We do not run criminal background checks or identity checks beyond the verification selfie.
- Verification confirms that the face in the photo took the photo. It does not confirm anyone's name, job, marital status, or intentions.
- We do not guarantee that you will be matched, that anyone will reply, that a conversation will lead to a meeting, or that a meeting will lead to anything at all. Compatibility scoring improves the odds. It promises nothing.
- We cannot vouch for any member. Use your own judgement, every time.
