You can permanently delete your 30andme account at any time. Deletion is immediate, complete, and cannot be undone.
Delete from inside the app (instant)
- Open 30andme and go to the Profile tab.
- Scroll to the account section and tap Delete account.
- Tell us briefly why you're leaving (we read every reason), then confirm.
Your account and data are deleted immediately. There is no waiting period and no deactivated limbo state.
Delete by email (if you can't access the app)
Email hello@30and.me from the email address registered to your account with the subject "Delete my account". We verify the request against the registered address and complete the deletion within 30 days (usually much sooner), confirming by reply.
What gets deleted
- Your profile: name, age, answers, bio, prompts, and preferences
- All photos, your verification selfie, and your spoken voice introduction
- Your matches, introductions, likes, and connection history
- Your subscriptions and passes recorded with us
- Your search/matching index entry
Chat messages are never stored permanently: they expire automatically within 7 days of the last message in a conversation, deletion or not.
What is retained
- The short deletion reason you provide, stored without your name, email, or any link back to you. Used only to understand why members leave.
- Anonymous product-usage counters (e.g. "a message was sent") that contain no profile data and cannot be traced to a deleted account.
- Encrypted database backups age out automatically within 30 days of your deletion.
Purchases made through Google Play or the App Store are managed by those stores. Cancel any active subscription in your store account settings, as deleting your 30andme account does not cancel store billing agreements.
